It was a very focused Jack Miller that we found in Losail, with the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider wanting to take a step forward in these two days of testing in Qatar, aiming to improve even more and even responding to Francesco Guidotti, acknowledging that he can do better in some aspects regarding his performance with the bike.

The Australian spoke about his test in Sepang, saying that he feels more comfortable with the bike, and also praising GASGAS Tech3 rookie Pedro Acosta and his teammate Brad Binder:

“At a certain level, I think we are closer this year, or at least I was, in the previous season, but that’s to be expected, I guess. I think Pedro did a fantastic job with the speed he had and also Brad. Obviously, the lap times were crazy, but they were too. We all did a good job and understood a little more about our capability. I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do here. Sepang hasn’t historically been the most fantastic track for our bike, so we’re interested in understanding here, with the upgrade we brought, working with the wind and the upgrades we brought, working in crosswind conditions, just to check if it was the right check or not and put that stamp of approval. There’s a lot of dust out there, but with all the guys, it will definitely be cleaned.”

As for the words of his Team Manager, who said earlier this week that Miller had to ‘behave’ and be better than he has ever been in his career – suggesting the rider’s performance – #43 responded with certainty: ‘Well, behave better… I think I’ve behaved better than ever in the last three seasons, so I’m not worried about any of that. Surely he didn’t mean anything by that.’

Miller then centered his narrative on the Italian’s words regarding his actions and performance on the bike, acknowledging that in this matter he can really do better:

– I think in terms of the progress we made, the changes we made during the low season. I understand that it was more related to the bike, it makes more sense because, in terms of behavior, I feel like I was at my best, but yes, for sure there are many things I can do better and I think working with this whole new program, taking a step back and trying to reassess and understand, as is always necessary in racing, and take stock, try to understand what we need to move forward and what we need to try to improve and set new obstacles in front of our eyes, and I feel like I did that. I feel mature enough and we should continue with that trend and I hope to minimize the mistakes, the small setbacks we had last year, because there were many, especially when it comes to the races.
