After struggling to move up from the bottom of the table since yesterday, the Portuguese rider from Trackhouse Racing seems to have found something to be faster with the 2024 Aprilia RS-GP: in the final hour, he made a significant jump in the standings to finish in 12th place, 0.884s behind the leader, Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati). His best time after 65 laps was 1m51.836s.

Despite the apparent improvements – which we can only confirm with the rider’s statements at the end of the day – Oliveira still remained behind the other Aprilia riders: the first one ahead of him was Maverick Viñales, in sixth place, more than four tenths of a second ahead. As for his teammate at Trackhouse, Raúl Fernández, he finished fifth, nearly half a second behind.
